Grace Gardens

Grace Lutheran Church and School students have educational opportunities through the planting and maintaining of the garden, using the produce to learn about cooking and healthy eating, learning about sustainability and the environment, composting and using the garden as inspiration for writing and art.

Established in 2012, Grace Garden creates community service and educational opportunities, and builds a collaborative church and school relationship. A large portion of the harvest goes directly to the Utah Food Bank.  Grace Lutheran Church and School values the involvement with multiple generations from the church into our planting and maintenance of the garden in order to foster multi-generational relationships that can teach our children faith, gardening, and social skills.

Grace Lutheran Church and School donates a small portion of the harvest to the church to use for members of the congregation that are in need. The garden was funded by a grant from the Whole Kids Foundation (associated with Whole Foods), and donations from Glover Nursery. For more information on school gardens visit our page on Edible Schoolyard. http://edibleschoolyard.org/program/grace-lutheran-school

Grace Lutheran Church and School is looking for families to take a week at a time to check on the garden from June - October. All families that sign up to take a week get to take a portion of the produce home.

Grace Gardens will gladly accept donations of new or used gardening tools including: trowels, composters, shovels, and containers to store the tools in next to the garden.

Please sign up by the front office or email school@gracesandy.org for more information
