Who is Jesus Christ?

Jesus is God's perfect son, sent by God to the earth for one purpose... to die on a cross for the sins of the entire world.

“For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all men...” (1 Timothy 2:5-6)

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

Does everyone really need Jesus Christ as their Savior?

Yes. The Bible tells us that not even one person is sinless. The only assurance of eternal life in Heaven is by trusting by faith that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you. (Romans 3:22-23; Romans 5:6-8)

What does Grace Lutheran understand to be the basic core of Christian faith?

We believe and affirm the tenets of the Christian faith as they are outlined in the three ecumenical creeds: the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed.
We believe that the only true God is the Triune God; one God who exists and reveals Himself in three distinct and separate persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Hebrews 11:1-3; John 3:16; John 5:39; Acts 4:12; 1 Corinthians 12:3)
We believe that God desires all people to be saved and know the truth. (Ezekiel 33:11; 1 Timothy 2:3-4; 2 Peter 3:9; 1 John 4:16; John 3:1-8; Romans 3:23; Colossians 1:21; Ephesians 2:1-5)
We believe that God so loved people that He sent His only Son Jesus to rescue us from our lost condition. (1 Timothy 2:5-6; Colossians 2:8-9; Isaiah 53:5; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Mark 16:16; Romans 10:9-10)
We believe that the Holy Spirit brings us to and keeps us in saving faith through God’s Word, Holy Baptism, and the Lord’s Supper.
